Olinda's out of S'pore Idol. I think she's great though and Taufik is great as usual.
Been readin up on philosophy these few days. It seems artists are very often influenced by thoughts of philosophy in their works. Aesthetics is the philosophy of art. Whenever we look at a particular piece of work, everyone draws their own conclusions to it and even the term "aesthetic value" and its meaning varies from individual to individual. Analysis or synthesis? It seems one's "style" is part of who we are. I personally tink tat one's "style", is governed by terms like "who we are","what we like". In a sense, philosophy answers tat question for us alreadi when we ask ourselves the question. How much do we realli know abt ourselves? Confused? Lol.. I got confused myself many times while reading. Gd to ponder over and think abt though. And i'm still FAR from finishing the book. Its just too deep to just read over, need to reflect as well. Hopefully when i finish it, i'll gain more insight..
